Room with a view is considered the finest restaurant inside Bluebeard’s Castle is attracting local diners from Charlotte Amalie St Thomas, who come here for the most succulent food and wine. With a wide-angle hillside view that most patrons, especially after a few cocktails, have described as mystical and breathtaking. The intimate (40-seat) restaurant is furnished in tones of burgundy and green, with floor-to-ceiling windows that sweep to the west, over the amazing sunset, the harborfront of Charlotte Amalie St Thomas, and as far away as the eye can see. There’s a small-scale bar on the premises (the kind of five-stool bar that’s appropriate for an appetizer and perhaps a cocktail or two before your meal, but not as an all-night place for socializing ).

Your meal may begin with steamed littleneck clams in either white- or red wine-based Provençal sauce; spanakopita, or spinach pie, as you might call to mind it tasting in Greece; grilled portobello mushrooms with goat cheese; or dolmades,stuffed vine leaves with dill and sun-dried tomatoes. Main courses feature lots of fresh fish, including an excellent version of yellowfin tuna, with teriyaki and ginger sauce; and locally caught lobster prepared Thermidor-style. Carnivores will enjoy the tender, succulent filet steak with peppercorn sauce. The chef is especially proud of the pork Marsala, simmered in butter with mushrooms, Marsala wine, and cream.
